Research

Spent the night researching babies. Amazing creatures they are. We have a blastocyst. I actually spent most of the night looking up baby names. I don't like any of them. According to the The Guy's Guide to Surviving Pregnancy, Childbirth and the First Year of Fatherhood this is about all we have to do for the first trimester. Pick names and worry. And eat right. And stay away from raw eggs, deli meats, soft cheeses, insecticides, lead.

Confirmation

The third test was conclusive. Absolutely positive. But it's so early. We're both kind of relieved that it happened so quickly. I'd kind of been geared up for many months of waiting... but I guess we're fertile people despite (according to some) our truly ancient age. Now we're excited and scared. We know nothing. Nothing!

Who can we tell? It's too early... anything can happen. Need to check with a doctor. What about houses, cars, appointments, names, birth, parenting. We know none of this. Fear, joy, panic, elation.

Time to test

Well, the time is here. Like all good experiments, it's down to a simple test. Tammy did a test this evening, and there was a faint, but uncertain line... the confirmation test was equally unconvincing. We're quite hopeful... apparently any marking is a positive test. We'll wait 24 hours, and give it another go. Tomorrow early I'm off to the drugstore.... I foolishly assumed 2 tests would be enough.
